Awareness Raising & Advocacy

Advocating for Inclusion and Acceptance of Diverse Learners

Fana-Ethiopia champions awareness and acceptance of diverse cognitive and developmental profiles, including learning differences and neurodiversity, through targeted training for educators, parents, and policymakers, and community-wide campaigns. Since 2017, over 1,200 teachers have been empowered to create more inclusive learning environments.

Raising understanding and promote acceptance of diverse cognitive and developmental profiles, including learning differences, neurodiversity, speech-language issues, and psycho-emotional challenges, advocating for inclusive policies and fostering a supportive community.

Fana-Ethiopia’s major focus has always been raising awareness of our community of learning and communication difficulties. We do this through awareness creation trainings and campaigns. The trainings are mainly for school teachers and school administrators, parents, and government officials from relevant ministries. The campaigns are mainly meant for the community in general.

In 2017, about 1221 of teachers received trainings(including the once from private schools), 927 of whom were female.
